ECoSIDA (Business Against HIV and AIDS)

ECoSIDA, Association of Business Against HIV and AIDS, is a non-governmental non-profit organization, created by 23 companies and associations. The number of members has grown rapidly, there is already about 50 members, including large, medium and small businesses. ECoSIDA has its headquarters in Maputo, but maintains active partnership with organizations that act as facilitators and implementers of its mandate, in the South (Nambas, Lda), Centre (ACIS), North (ACIANA and ECoSIDA- Cabo Delgado).

Mission

The mission of ECoSIDA is to mobilize the business community in Mozambique, to play an important role in increasing social responsibility in the fight against HIV and AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, in the workplace.

Vision

The vision is to be the facilitator and implementer of programs to combat HIV and AIDS, aiming to:

  • Reduce the number of new HIV infections among workers and their dependents through mass education and prevention;
  • Mitigate the impact of HIV and AIDS on workers and their dependents who are infected and affected, through care and support;
  • Extend and improve the quality of life of workers and of their dependents through the monitoring of opportunistic infections and the providing of antiretroviral treatment (and opportunistic infection).
