InvestigaçãoThe CTA performs studies, reviews and investigations independently based on the priorities defined by the interests of its members, which allows it to position itself institutionnally in the public sector policies to promote competitiveness and sustainable business development.

The objectives are

  • To conduct, monitor and control economic studies, researches and analyses that constitute the strategic basis of CTA;
  • To monitor the evolution/change in business environment;
  • To support and meet the needs of associations and the consultative mechanisms in promoting business improvement, to help create an environment conducive to the private sector development;
  • To create awareness and to influence the opinion of the members and of the public as far as the private sector is concerned, for a better understanding of the market economy;
  • To publish articles in the press and to promote specialist courses and seminars on topics of general economic policy aiming at developing the private sector.

Expected results

The unit provides members and relevant stakeholders with opinions on the policy agenda about business and helps to improve understanding, awareness and beliefs about matters regarding the private sector and economy as a whole.

Immediate actions

  • To produce and regularly update: a document analyzing the changing business environment in Mozambique; a financial directory; a document about the International Prices of Commodities and a Commercial Guide.
  • To suggest actions: to create a better business environment for SMEs and to send them to the Government for approval or consultation; to promote the formalization of informal sector operators, produced and sent to the Government for adoption.
  • To suggest services for the government that should move towards a system of implementation of Public Private Partnership, produced and sent to the Government for adoption.
