Provincial Council Business (CEP)

The CEP is the organ of the CTA within the province. Its aim is to engage dialogue with the Provincial Government and other public and private entities to remove barriers to the development of local entrepreneurial activity.

The CEP is composed of individuals of recognized merit and known for their interest in the problems of associations and in the development of the country, particularly for the private business sector of the province. Their number cannot exceed 25 individuals representing different sectors of activities.

The CEP members are nominated by their respective trade associations, preferably members of the CTA, or by companies at the invitation of the Vice-President of the CTA’s Board, responsible for the region where the province is located, except when the province does not have existing associations, or if these associations do not represent different sectors of activities.

Structure

  • The President who is elected among its members for a temporary term, which does not exceed three years, renewable only once;
  • The Vice-President;
  • The Secretariat;
  • Working groups.

Competences

  • Design and operationalize a public-private dialogue to improve business environment;
  • Prepare and propose strategic options for entrepreneurs in the province, as well as policies of the business;
  • Give opinion on matters that the Board will submit for review, including comment on the major problems of the province economy in general;
  • Prepare the annual business plan, budget and action plans and submit them to the CTA Board, with medium and long term prospects;
  • Indicate people, when requested, to integrate specialized committees to analyze, study and monitor major issues or problems of the province.
